Hoasca Tea
A tea from the forest, drunk in ritual and studied by science
The União do Vegetal uses Hoasca Tea, also known as ayahuasca, in its religious ritual, where it is drunk for the effect of mental concentration.
It is prepared from two Amazonian plants, the Mariri vine and the leaves of Chacrona, grown by the members themselves.
- Mariri and ChacronaThe two plants native to the Amazon Rainforest from which the Tea is made.
- Harmless to healthThe Hoasca Project was the first study of the effects of long-term use of the Tea in human beings.
- Legal useRecognized in Brazil since 1987. In 2006, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously upheld the religious use of the Tea.
